The Final Chapter of The Dry: Exclusive Panel Event will take place on Sunday, May 24th in Schull. The event will feature a discussion with the show’s creators and cast about the final season.

Two events are being announced: a talk on the enduring appeal of courtroom dramas by John O’Donnell on 23rd May, and a book launch for his new collection, Mr Hoo & Other Stories, on 22nd May. Tickets for both events go on sale on 4th May.

Robbie Sheehan, known for his roles in Misfits and The Umbrella Academy, will be a guest at the 2026 Fastnet Film Festival. The festival will also screen his film The Road Within, which explores themes of friendship, healing, and self-discovery.

The film TRAD, directed by Lance Daly, will be screened on Friday 22nd of May, followed by a Q&A session. A welcome drink will be served by West Cork Distillery before the screening.

On Thursday 21st of May at the Holy Trinity Church on Colla Road, Schull, the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland will presents a very special evening of music and film by Oscar winning composer Stephen Warbeck.




Molly Manning Walker is a British cinematographer and BAFTA nominated director, based in London.


The Fastnet Film Festival will screen “Listen to the Land Speak” as part of the Focus on Cork programme. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Maurice O’Brien and writer Ruán Magan.

A two-day masterclass in screen acting will be held in Schull on 21st and 22nd May 2026, led by Maureen Hughes, Sarah Hone, and Dale Leadon Bolger. The masterclass will cover audition techniques, performance analysis, and the differences between stage and screen acting. Booking is essential, costing €120 per person.

Brendan Canty, one of Ireland’s most exciting directors, will be the first guest for Fastnet 2026. His work includes the feature film Christy, which won awards at Berlinale and the Galway Film Fleadh, and the documentary Gealtra.
