He Dies at the End (2010, 4 mins) A minimalist horror short where a man’s cryptic online quiz spirals into a terrifying reality.

Oddity (2024, 98 mins) A chilling, genre-blending thriller. Psychic Darcy investigates her twin’s murder, uncovering eerie secrets through unsettling visions and a sinister mannequin. Mc Carthy masterfully weaves Irish folklore, psychological horror, and gothic dread into a nerve-jangling experience. Fans of Caveat will relish its eerie, disorienting tension.

Damian Mc Carthy is an acclaimed Irish filmmaker from Bantry, County Cork, celebrated for his distinct voice in horror cinema. Damian began with five short horror films before making his feature debut with Caveat(2020), released by Shudder. His second feature Oddity (2024), won the SXSW Midnight Audience Award earning widespread acclaim. Damian will participate in a shorts-to-feature screening and Q&A alongside writer-director Gerard Stembridge, reflecting on his creative journey. His upcoming supernatural horror Hokum, starring Adam Scott, filmed at the West Cork Film Studios is now in Post Production. McCarthy’s eerie, atmospheric style continues to push the boundaries of contemporary horror.
