On Sunday, 25th May, we are thrilled to have celebrated American actor Bill Pullman, join Sarah Hone, Associate Artistic Director of Bow Street Academy, for an in-depth conversation about his life and career.
Known for his remarkable versatility across film, television, and theatre, Bill first gained widespread recognition with roles in Ruthless People, Spaceballs, and the Oscar-winning The Accidental Tourist. Beyond acting, he has a deep passion for architecture and restoration, having designed and repurposed barns in Montana, Los Angeles, and Western New York.
Bill is also deeply committed to community work. He serves on the board of Cornerstone Theatre in Los Angeles, supports healthcare initiatives in his hometown of Hornell, New York, and advocates for responsible energy planning in Montana. As an MS Society Ambassador, he shares a rich creative partnership with his wife, dancer Tamara Hurwitz Pullman. They have three children, including actor Lewis Pullman.
Bill is currently filming in West Cork, and we’re delighted to welcome him for what promises to be a thoughtful and inspiring conversation.
On Thursday evening, 23rd May, there will be a screening of While You Were Sleeping, starring FFF guest Bill Pullman and directed by Jon Turteltaub (1995, 143 minutes, PG). The film stars Sandra Bullock as Lucy, a lonely subway worker who saves a stranger and is mistakenly identified as his fiancée while he lies in a coma. As she becomes part of his warm and welcoming family, she unexpectedly begins to fall for his brother Jack, played with quiet charm and warmth by Bill Pullman. What begins as a simple mix-up turns into a tender and witty story of love, identity, and second chances.
