Anna Machukh, Executive Director

Ukrainian Film Academy, and General Director, Odesa International Film Festival and Dasha Trehubova, Ukrainian actress and TV Presenter will bring a curated programme or Ukrainian shorts and feature length films to FFF 2023.

Anna and Dasha will take part in a discussion with Producer David Collins, which will focus on the Ukrainian Film Industry from both the creative and the commercial aspects.

We are also delighted to announce the World Premiere Screening of 'Songbird' followed by Q&A with Producer Eamon Hughes of Samson Films, Director Viko Nikci, Actress Anastasiia Manzhosova and Film Professional Nadia Shmelova.

Songbird, directed by Viko Nikci and written by Viko & Eoin Colfer follows Yana, a young Ukrainian girl, who struggles to assimilate into her new Irish school until she meets with Chloe who helps her settle and find some hope in this new country.

The film was made with the help of many Ukrainian film professionals who have been displaced, finding themselves in Ireland without any ties to the industry.

On Sunday 28th of May we will host a Tribute to the late James Flynn, followed by a screening of The Door Directed by Juanita Wilson and Produced by James Flynn.

The Door which James developed and produced was filmed in Ukraine.  This film is one of many that would never have been made without James’ encouragement, vision and tenacity. It went on to receive an Academy Award® nomination for Best Short Film in 2010.
