Music & Film Concert by Oscar Winning Composer Stephen Warbeck

On Thursday 21st of May at the Holy Trinity Church on Colla Road, Schull, the Screen Composers Guild of Ireland will presents a very special evening of music and film by Oscar winning composer Stephen Warbeck, featuring cues from his seminal works: Shakespeare in Love, Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Jeanne du Barry, The Man in The Hat, Park Avenue, The Three Urns plus some surprises!

Stephen will be joined by an ensemble of accomplished musicians: Dario Rosetti-Bonell, Lynda O’Connor, Ailbhe McDonagh, Malachy Robinson, Stephen’s daughter Mathilda Homer and Maurice Seezer.

Dario Rossetti-Bonell, Guitarist Musician Composer

Dario met Stephen Warbeck nearly 30 years ago and has since performed on film scores including Shakespeare in Love and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. He has collaborated with composers such as Hans Zimmer and Gabriel Yared, and performed with artists including Sting. His work also spans major theatre and opera institutions.

Lynda O’Connor, Violinist

Lynda O’Connor is an exceptional Irish violinist, renowned for her virtuosity, musical depth, and captivating stage presence. A prodigious talent from childhood, she has forged an international career as soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral leader, earning acclaim for her expressive performances, distinguished collaborations, and inspiring commitment to musical excellence.

Ailbhe McDonagh, Cellist / Composer

Ailbhe McDonagh is an internationally acclaimed cellist and composer, celebrated for her radiant tone and impeccable artistry. A soloist and chamber musician, she has earned praise through performances and recordings. Her award winning albums, acclaimed collaborations, and prolific compositions confirm her as one of Ireland’s most distinguished and versatile musical voices.

Malachy Robinson, Principal Double-bassist

Malachy Robinson is a distinguished and versatile musician, celebrated for his deep commitment to both early and contemporary music. A gifted chamber performer and principal double-bassist, he brings expressive insight and technical brilliance to every setting, inspiring audiences and collaborators alike with his artistry, curiosity, and unwavering musical integrity.

Mathilda Homer Singer Songwriter

Mathilda Homer’s contemporary soul, elegantly fuses jazz textures with hip hop rhythms, anchored by vivid, narrative songwriting. Her raspy, distinctive voice and dry wit shine from early releases to Pretty In Blue, a confident, reflective return shaped by motherhood, capturing intimate beauty, emotional clarity, and a quietly compelling artistic evolution.

Maurice Seezer Composer / Pianist / Accordionist

Maurice Seezer is an acclaimed Irish composer and songwriter celebrated for his emotionally resonant film scores and enduring collaborations with Gavin Friday. His work spans cinema, albums, and iconic artists including Bono and Sinéad O'Connor, reflecting a distinctive, poetic musical voice.

Stephen Warbeck, Composer

Stephen Warbeck is considered one of Britain’s most accomplished composers, celebrated for his expressive and versatile scores across film, television, and theatre. He won an Academy Award for Shakespeare in Love, establishing an international reputation for elegance and emotional depth. His work on films such as Billy Elliot and Captain Corelli’s Mandolin further highlights his range. With a distinguished career spanning decades, Warbeck continues to enrich storytelling through music of sensitivity, charm, and lasting impact.

Stephen will also screen ‘The Three Urns’, starring Ciaran Hinds, on Fri 22nd as score composer and co-director with John-Paul Davidson.
