We’re excited to unveil the official image for FFF 2026, selected from over 2,000 submitted stills. The chosen image is drawn from the Chinese film ‘Elves in the Valley’, directed by Tenglin Peng (彭腾淋). Capturing the spirit of this year’s programme, the striking visual sets the tone for another unforgettable five days in Schull.

As part of our Focus on Cork, we are proud to present a special screening of ‘Listen to the Land Speak’.
Following the screening, audiences are invited to stay for a compelling Q&A with director Maurice O'Brien and writer / filmmaker Ruán Magan, honouring his brother Manchán’s remarkable creative legacy and his enduring connection to the land.

This visually stunning journey through the Irish landscape is beautifully captured by Maurice O’Brien. In one of Manchán Magan’s final works, he explores the deep knowledge and wisdom embedded in the land. Moving through the seasons, from Imbolc/Brigid’s Day to the Winter Solstice and travelling along rivers, mountains, and ancient mythical sites, he reflects on how this inherited understanding might help us rebuild our relationship with nature today.
The film unfolds as an unexpectedly personal story as Manchán confronts a serious illness that reshapes his sense of history, place, and self. Poetic, reflective, and profoundly moving, Listen to the Land Speak is both a celebration of Ireland’s cultural memory and an intimate meditation on belonging.
