The FFF Team are Preparing for an even better festival in May 2020….

The Winners of this year’s Southern Star West Cork Business & Tourism Awards have been announced, chosen from 111 businesses and organisations throughout the region. We are honoured and delighted with this accolade. A warm Welcome to the new members of the FFF Committee..

Deirdre Quinlan is from Schull and has recently moved back after a long career working in the Education Department in the Irish Film Institute, Dublin. She has a degree in Media and Communications, a Certificate in Youth Arts and is a qualified TESOL teacher. Through her work in the IFI, she was an enthusiastic board member for Fresh Film Festival for a number of years. Deirdre is particularly interested in the use of film in education and promoting film culture among

diverse audiences. She is delighted to be involved with Fastnet Film Festival.

Deirdre will take over the role of Operations from Frankie Ross, many thanks to Frankie for all her hard work.

Ger Sweeney has recently moved to Schull from Dublin where he worked in the Irish Film Institute for the last 12 years, developing a keen appreciation and love of film culture. He is looking forward to contributing to another successful Fastnet Film Festival in 2020.

Ger will take on the role of Technical Liaison.

Tom McCarthy who has been associated with FFF since its inception has taken over as Chairman with responsibility for Finance.  Every cent counts!!

We have received 300 films so far and will choose our 2020 image very soon. Regular entry will close on the 10th and extended entry on the 31st of January, so get submitting:
