Sandy Lieberson to return to Schull in May for the 6th Fastnet Film Festival

We are overjoyed to welcome back, Sandy Lieberson, founder and Chair of Film London, and one of the founders of The Berlin Talent Campus. In May 2011 Greg Dyke interviewed Sandy and David Puttnam and this year Sandy will screen and discuss one of his most famous and controversial productions will occupy a more hands on role at the festival. The festival will run over the last week in May, from Wednesday the 21st to Sunday the 25th and is shaping up to be the most exciting yet.

Sandy is currently advisor to a wide range of projects dedicated to the development of talent in the film and media industry. His track record dates back to the 1960s, when he acted as an agent for Sergio Leone, Peter Sellers and the Rolling Stones. He formed Goodtimes with David Puttnam in 1970, going on to produce films such as Performance, Stardust and Jabberwocky. Lieberson was First Vice President of International Pictures & Marketing and later President of Production at 20th Century Fox. He supervised the international launches of, the early Star Wars films, and the production of films by Herzog, Roeg, Bertolucci, Zinneman, Kurosawa and Ridley Scott.

During the 1980s and 1990s Lieberson was Chief of Production at Goldcrest and President of MGM. Since the mid-1990s he has worked as an independent producer, establishing the Producing Department at the National Film & Television School.
