Following her studies at the Lodz Film School, Poland, Kate teamed up with Michael Lavelle on Ken Wardrop’s “His & Hers,” jointly winning the Cinematography Award in World Cinema Documentary at Sundance 2010. Kate was nominated for an Emmy in Lighting Design for “The Farthest” (2017, and picked up an “Award for Excellence” at the 2022 Guild of Television Camera Professionals for  “Songs for While I’m Away”. She also lensed “I, Dolours” (2018), for which she was awarded the coveted Golden Frog for her cinematography at Camerimage in 2018.

Kate then began shooting on the second block of “Normal People” with director Hettie Macdonald and won the IFTA for Best Cinematography in 2021, and shot the acclaimed Irish language film “An Cailín Ciúin” which has garnered her Best Cinematography at the 2022 IFTAs among several other nominations and is the first ever Irish Language film to be nominated for An Academy Award in ‘Best International Feature Film’.
