The shortlist for this year’s Epic Awards has been announced – with 24 groups from across Ireland and the UK, successfully getting through to the next round of judging!
The Epic Awards were set up in 2010 by ‘Voluntary Arts’, an organisation working to promote, support and champion the voluntary cultural sector.
The next stage of the process sees a panel of experts selecting a winner and runner up in each of the four categories – England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Winners will be announced at a reception in Glasgow on 26 February 2014.
Voting has begun for the People’s Choice Award, an award for the honour of being the public’s favourite. To cast your vote, please view the entries below and vote by clicking the green ‘thumbs-up’ button under your preferred entry (only one vote per email address – you will be asked to register solely for the purpose of voting).

The voluntary cultural sector is huge, incorporating film festivals, drama groups, choirs, knitting circles, orchestras, dance troupes, quilters, embroiderers, community arts and much, much more. Over 60,000 voluntary arts groups operate across the UK and Republic of Ireland, and their contribution to lives in their local community cannot be underestimated. The Epic Awards are here to shine a spotlight on their invaluable contribution to society.
