An Exploration of the Art of Tighe O’Donoghue/Ross

We are so happy to announce the screening of the feature documentary Why is There Anything Instead of Nothing?, produced by Aidan Stanley, directed by Paddy O’Shea, with music by Herbie Macken and VFX by Richard Merrigan, Windmill Lane. An entire team of our great friends and supporters!

Tighe O’Donoghue/Ross is an artist who works across all mediums, from print making, painting and sculpture to stained glass. He achieved great success and fame in the New York art scene of the 1970s and 1980s before moving his family to Ireland, where centuries before his ancestors built Ross Castle on the shores of Loch Lein in Killarney, Co. Kerry.

The film bears witness to Tighe’s fierce independence as an artist determined to explore and experiment across all mediums without the constraints and interruptions of commerce. The film also touches upon the influence ancestry has had on Tighe’s life and artistic choices.
